Search Engine Optimization!

Search engine optimization (SEO) is a set of methods aimed at improving the ranking of a website in search engine listings, and could be considered a subset of search engine marketing. The term SEO also refers to "search engine optimizers," an industry of consultants who carry out optimization projects on behalf of clients' sites. Some commentators, and even some SEOs, break down methods used by practitioners into categories such as "white hat SEO" (methods generally approved by search engines, such as building content and improving site quality), or "black hat SEO" (tricks such as cloaking and spamdexing). White hatters say that black hat methods are an attempt to manipulate search rankings unfairly. Black hatters counter that all SEO is an attempt to manipulate rankings, and that the particular methods one uses to rank well are irrelevant. Other SEOs reject the black and white hat dichotomy as over-simplification.

Search engines display different kinds of listings in the search engine results pages (SERPs), including: pay per click advertisements, paid inclusion listings, and organic search results. SEO is primarily concerned with advancing the goals of a website by improving the number and position of its organic search results for a wide variety of relevant keywords. SEO strategies may increase both the number and quality of visitors. Search engine optimization is sometimes offered as a stand-alone service, or as a part of a larger marketing effort, and can often be very effective when incorporated into the initial development and design of a site.

For competitive, high-volume search terms, the cost of pay per click advertising can be substantial. Ranking well in the organic search results can provide the same targeted traffic at a potentially significant savings. Site owners may choose to optimize their sites for organic search, if the cost of optimization is less than the cost of advertising.

Not all sites have identical goals for search optimization. Some sites seek any and all traffic, and may be optimized to rank highly for common search phrases. A broad search optimization strategy can work for a site that has broad interest, such as a periodical, a directory, or site that displays advertising with a CPM revenue model. In contrast, many businesses try to optimize their sites for large numbers of highly specific keywords that indicate readiness to buy. Overly broad search optimization can hinder marketing strategy by generating a large volume of low-quality inquiries that cost money to handle, yet result in little business. Focusing on desirable traffic generates better quality sales leads, resulting in more sales. Search engine optimization can be very effective when used as part of a smart niche marketing strategy.

Looking For Discount Motorcycle Helmets

If you are looking for discount motorcycle helmet choices, it would be good to look for them at helmet specialty shops and stores. But be very sure that every discount motorcycle helmet that you chance upon should be up to safety standards. Do not buy motorcycle helmets just by the price offered but also by the level of protection that it can provide. There are discount motorcycle helmets that are up to the job, it is just a matter of finding them.

You must bear in mind that a motorcycle helmet is a very important element of the motorcycle riding experience. They are not used merely for aesthetic reasons but for safety reasons as well. A motorcycle helmet enhances your riding experience to a fun and secure level. A badly chosen helmet may not fit you or work for you properly, thereby lessening your riding experience.

Choosing a motorcycle helmet can be difficult for most people. Even the most experienced riders can have a difficult time finding one that they would find suitable for their needs. One of the key issues faced by most riders is the fit of the motorcycle helmet. Riders have different helmet shapes and forms to check out. Not all of them may be able to fit suitably for everyone.

There are full face helmets that offer full head and face protection for riders but may not be able to fit properly for some riders. Then there are also open faced helmets as well as half helmets that offer a more comfortable fit for most people but offer less protection if used in the absence of goggles and sunglasses which can help protect the eyes.

Another key reason for choosing a motorcycle helmet is the style and appeal. Aesthetic value is what makes some helmets more popular than others. The technology being used in designing them can even become the reason why such helmets are preferred by most. Attractive colors and striking graphic designs can also provide helmets with good saleability. Price also is important to some people when choosing a helmet.

If you cannot find a good helmet that would best fit or appeal to your tastes, you can always have one custom made. This way, not only will you be getting the helmet looks that you want, you can also have them custom made to be more comfortable to give you a more enhanced riding experience. No matter what helmet you choose, just make sure that you always put safety and protection on top of your list when you do your choices.

New Ways to Earn More Money as a Writer

NEW WAYS TO EARN MORE MONEY AS A WRITER by Pamela White

One common theme among writers is how to make more money. Unless we have a spouse whose job includes health insurance, 401K's, and have a fortunate ability to pick winning lottery numbers, we all plot and plan to earn more each week, each month, each year.

Just like a varied diet keeps our health on track, a varied approach to writing keeps our income healthy.

A common dilemma is that once we get in tight with an editor at a well-paying magazine, the editor moves, the magazine closes, or both. Newspapers cut back on weekly columnists; magazines are narrowing down their stable of regular writers so it's hard to break in somewhere new.

While we are living with the changes in our writing opportunities, why not focus on opening new doors instead of fretting about familiar doors shutting in our faces.

Learn to write press releases. Every business needs someone who can write a kick-butt press release to get them free publicity. You can grab some books or search for articles online but writing a press release varies little from writing an article. It's just that you and the editors you're sending it to understand that you are pitching a story that they can run without paying for it. Add press releases to your resume and you can bid on freelance auction sites and earn over $120 per press release as a novice. Seek clients locally, build on your successes and you could end up living off your publicity earnings.

Love to write how-to articles? Why not expand on your favorite topics and turn them into ebooks? My first venture into ebooks was to take an old writing class that I was no longer teaching and simply turn it into one document, each lesson equaled a chapter. I turned it into a PDF, opened an account on payloadz.com, and sent out an email to my list saying I had a new ebook. I made dozens of sales the first week, and the sales continue today. Total time? I spent one day creating the ebook from lessons I had already written. You could do the same from information articles you've penned, or from information you have stashed in your head. You can sell ebooks from your website, booklocker.com, or on ebay.com .

Learn SEO. Imagine my surprise when someone asked me to write a series of articles based on instructions from his SEO advisor. I had to look it up. Search Engine Optimization is hot and will continue to be a skill that puts you in front of the parade of writers. Simply put, SEO is using keywords (or words that people use in search engines when looking for what you have to offer) throughout your website and meta tags that are picked up by search engines. You want your website to have the words that your potential readers and clients will use to find someone who will provide the services that you long to sell. Yes, it's getting more complex but for more website owners looking for a content provider, you can learn to use online programs that will help you determine which string of search words will bring the most visitors to any site.

Teach what you know. Write up a workshop, pitch it to a local college, church, association, group, or community center. With a little publicity, anyone can fill a class on the subject of her choice. Do you want to teach cooking classes? Would it surprise you to know that Food Network star, and now talk show host, Rachael Ray started teaching 30-minute cooking classes near her home to pay bills, and that led a local tv station to offer her a special, then weekly show. Then came a cookbook, Food Network, special appearances, and on and on. You may not make it as far, as fast as she did, but you can make money to pay bills by teaching workshops. People are willing to pay between $35 to $135 for a half day workshop. And as a writer, you know how to organize and write a class.

Try to get a column (or two). At one point I was writing four regular columns. I had to do little more than those to meet my financial goals. Start off by choosing a theme for your column, write down a list of 12 to 36 ideas and find local, regional and national markets. The guarantee of regular income each week or each month from a column is a wonderful feeling for freelance writers.

Prepare yourself for the ups and downs of the writing life by learning new ways to make more money!

Emergency Childbirth: Why You Need To Know What To Do

When it comes to childbirth, a large number of women are able to make it to the emergency room or their prearranged birthing centers; however, not all are. While there is a good chance that you will make it to your intended destination, before your baby arrives, what would you do if you couldnt make it? Unfortunately, a large number of expectant parents have no idea. That is why it is important that you take the time to familiarize yourself with emergency childbirths, just in case.

Perhaps, the best way to familiarize yourself with emergency births is by speaking to your pregnancy care physician, whether that professional be your primary care physician, an OBGYN, or a certified nurse midwife. There is a good chance that your pregnancy care provider will briefly touch on the subject of an unexpected birth, but it is important that you know as much as you can about the situation, including what you can and cannot do. For that reason, you may want to make a list of questions that you should ask him or her.

One of the most important questions that you need to ask your pregnancy care provider is where you should or shouldnt have your baby. Depending on the situation, you may not have a choice, but you might just have one. For instance, if you are going into labor at your home, you may want to know where the best delivery location would be. From a medical standpoint, you will want an area of your home that is safe and clean, but also one that will be comfortable. Your OBGYN, primary care physician, or certified nurse midwife should be able to give you the most accurate answer.

During emergency childbirths, it is recommended that the births occur on clean surfaces, at least a surface that is clean as it could possibly be. Although you might not have enough time to make it to the hospital, there may be enough time to sanitize the area in which you plan on giving birth. The only problem with sanitizing your birthing area is that not all cleaning products are safe for you and your child. That is why it is advised that you seek professional assistance. If cleaning supplies need to be used, it is important that you know which ones are safe and which ones are not.

Cleaning supplies are not the only items or supplies that you need to be concerned about. As beautiful as childbirth is, it can also be messy. That is why it is often recommended that you wear protective clothing, such as gloves, and have a number of towels or blankets on hand. You should ask your pregnancy care provider what items, as well as how many, you should have on hand. In fact, your healthcare provider should be able to provide you with an emergency birthing checklist or you could easily make your own, as soon as you arrive home.

Although it is best to get your information directly from your own pregnancy care provider, you can also familiarize yourself with emergency childbirths by using the internet or by buying a pregnancy book from one of your local retail stores. These books and online resources may not provide you with as detailed or as personalized information, but they can do. However, if at any point you find that you have unanswered questions or need further assistance, you are advised to seek assistance from a professional healthcare provider.

Whether you learn about emergency childbirths through your physician, the internet, or a printed resource guide, you are advised to follow all of the information and directions given to you. It may also be a good idea to take additional precautions. For instance, it will likely be recommended that you have the above mentioned supplies on hand; however, you may want to take it a step further. It may be a good idea to keep the materials needed for an emergency childbirth in number of different locations, such as your car or your workplace.

Despite the fact that your labor and delivery may go exactly as planned, there are no guarantees. By asking the above mentioned questions, you should be prepared for anything that happens, whether it be expected or not. The information you will learn may come in handy; however, it is important that you share it with those that you will be around. Since you will be occupied, you will need to rely on assistance from those around you, whether they are medical professionals or not.

Are Memphis Schools Getting What They Pay For?

The 2001 No Child Left Behind Act provided many programs for students through out the country. In the Memphis Schools it made free pre-kindergarten and extra tutoring by teachers during school hours available to help achieve higher test scores and. Also, Memphis Schools low-income students received free extra-curricular tutoring.

However, an extensive study but the University of Memphis found that these students are not getting ahead, and the Memphis Schools are not getting what they are paying for.

The Center for Research in Educational Policy recently set up a review of Memphis Schools, and of the entire state, to measure the affects of these types of services. They explored such programs as free extra academic help (which in the Memphis Schools includes before and after school tutoring and Title 1 programs).

Supplemental educational services are provided to Title I schools that fail to achieve benchmark performance scores three years in a row. At that point the Memphis Schools are required to provide the services. In Memphis Schools the providers of these services can be companies, local community groups, programs, local colleges and universities, national organizations or church based groups.

In the Memphis Schools there are fourteen companies, groups, or schools, which provided tutoring services to 988 students in math and 512 students in reading and language arts. Some of these charged as much as $1400 per student. While business is booming for the private tutoring industry, the study did not see any improvement in the students scores on benchmark testing. Within the Memphis Schools the group found that those eligible that did receive assistance did not score any better than those who were eligible but did not receive the assistance.

The group tested the Memphis Schools students using the Tennessee Comprehensive Assessment Program and Gateway testing scores to determine how the different groups faired. In the areas of math and reading Memphis Schools showed no improvement for those tutored. In fact two of the providers of the tutoring services produced below standard outcomes during the 2005-2006 school year; and the remainder of the Memphis Schools students who received tutoring had insufficient information to determine the outcome.

One problem is keeping track of which students actually used the free services. It is unclear how Memphis Schools plan to eliminate this problem. Clearly, the private tutoring agencies need to show accountability or lose their contract. It was also suggested that teachers receive funding to oversee tutoring by non-profit groups and organizations. Memphis Schools teachers might be a better job at ensuring accountability. Memphis Schools face the huge issue of whether to keep spending their money on methods that dont seem to be working, fix the methods, or start fresh.

Determining Your Baby Shower Guest List

Pregnancy is always an exciting time. You are busy thinking about a thousand things - what sex the baby will be, what name to choose, how to decorate the nursery, etc. But, many of your friends probably have one thing at the top of their priority list - your baby shower. Baby showers are a great time to get together with friends and celebrate the upcoming birth and all the excitement that goes with that.

When the appropriate time comes, you will probably be approached by at least one friend about a baby shower. This may be your best friend from high school or the girlfriend you ran around with while still single. You may even be approached by relatives who want to throw a shower for you. Some people have multiple baby showers - one thrown by family members, one thrown by friends and one thrown by coworkers. No matter who throws the shower for you, you will need to think about whom to put on the guest list. Chances are, your aunt, best friend or coworker are not going to know everyone you would like to invite, so she is going to need a little help from you.

First, you will need to decide if you think you are going to have more than one shower. If you hear rumors of a family shower, you probably do not want to invite family members to your "friends" shower. If you have coworkers that are also close friends, you do not want to invite them to your "friends" shower only to find out you are having a work related shower as well. So keep your ears open to try to find out as much as possible to avoid duplicate invitations. You can even ask people you are close to if you feel comfortable enough and explain to them why you are asking. It will not be the worst thing if Aunt Silvia has to tell you to hold off on inviting your best friend to the family shower "just because."

Be sure to ask the shower host how many people can attend the shower. It may depend on where the shower is being held. Some people have their showers at their church so there is plenty of room and seating, but many people have them in their homes, so there may be a limited amount of space. You also do not want to overload your shower host's budget. She may be thinking you will invite fifteen people and you do not want to show up with a list of a hundred people. Remember that the shower invitations, decorations, and refreshments are going to cost your host money and you want to be respectful of her generosity in offering to throw you a shower.

Once you have an idea of what type of baby showers you are going to have, then you need to sit down and write out a list. You may want to jot down names on a sheet of paper before you start looking up addresses. You may even want to ask some other people whom you should invite. With all you have going on, chances are you may forget someone, so it will be useful to have another person helping you. You do not want to hurt anyone's feelings by unintentionally leaving them off the guest list.

After you get your list set, you will need to start gathering addresses. Actually giving your names and addresses to the host may best be done on the computer if you are comfortable using it. Many people already keep names and addresses in online address books, so giving your host your shower list may be as simple as printing the address list and checking the names of those you want to invite. If you do not have your addresses online, you can type them into a spreadsheet to give to your shower host. An online copy of addresses may come in handy depending on whether she is going to have addresses printed on envelopes, print address labels for the envelopes, or hand write the addresses on each envelope. No matter how she is going to do it, having a nice, clear copy of all names and addresses will be beneficial.

Finally, if you forget someone important on your list and feel badly about it, invite them out to a special one-on-one lunch with you. It will not be the same as being at the shower, but can help mend hurt feelings from being left out.

Have fun determining your baby shower list. Call a few of your closest friends, grab your old address books and have a good time reminiscing as you jot down names.

Poem: To Keep You Warm

Here's a little snowman soup

Complete with stirring stick

Add hot water and sip it slow

2. Christmas Wreath

Cut out the center of a white paper plate and paint the outer part of the plate green. Glue trios of Cheerios cereal to the wreath. When the glue is dry, dip a paint brush in red paint and dab over the cheerios so they resemble holly berries. Glue on a gift bow to the bottom of the wreath.

3. Milk carton Gingerbread Houses

Supplies Needed:

White icing(store bought or a recipe)

empty, clean 2L milk cartons

graham cracker squares

decorations:a variety of candies, sprinkles, etc.

Have all of your decorations, candies etc. in individual bowls. Prepare white icing/frosting if you are not using store bought.

Cut your milk carton in half width-wise and staple the tops closed. Cut each milk carton to make one or two doors. Secure the milk carton with the white icing onto a paper plate or a sheet of wax paper on top of cardboard. Attach graham cracker squares to sides of milk carton by spreading icing on milk carton and pressing cracker firmly onto carton. Do the same for the roof. For the area between the sides and roof, cut a graham cracker in half on the diagonal to form a triangle and attach the same way.

Once you have your sides and roof attached, use icing to attach decorations and candies to your house.

Backpacks and School Furniture - Threats to Our Childrens Wellbeing

About fifteen years ago I read a book by Alice Miller, For Your Own Good: Hidden cruelty in Child-Rearing and the Roots of Violence, a book that left a lasting impression on me. Miller was a psychoanalyst who, after twenty years of practicing psychoanalysis came to the realization that she could do more good by writing about the parent-child relationship for the general public. Her earlier work had led her to the conclusion that parents and teachers can harm children even when they believe they are acting in the best interest of the child.

I was particularly struck by her descriptions of child-rearing in Germany a century ago. Miller cited the work of Dr. Daniel Gottlieb Schreber, the inventor of the Schrebergrten (the German word for "small allotments") and whose widely read books had an enormous influence of the way parents treated their parents.

One of Schreber's convictions was that when babies cry they should be stopped by the use of spanking, assuring his readers that "such a procedure is only necessary once, or at the most twice, and then one is master of the child for all time. From then on, one look, one single gesture will suffice."

In effect, the experts of that period were saying that children were essentially little savages who needed to be tamed for their own good. Moreover, the abuse required for this taming process would simply fade from their minds once they matured into civilized adulthood; childhood experiences mattered only as a means to that end.

As Miller writes, Many people - motivated by what they thought to be the best of intentions - complied with the advice given them by Schreber and other authors about how best to raise their children. Today we would call it a systematic instruction in child persecution and maltreatment. Indeed physical punishment of children was officially condemned the American Academy of Pediatrics in 1998.

But there is absolutely no reason to think that German parents a hundred years ago loved their children any less that parents do now. They certainly did not set out to harm their children. They were simply using approved methods in much the same way that parents today rely on the advice available to them.

Intellectual honesty requires that we be open to the possibility that a century from now, some of our own parenting practices will be seen as having been as harmful as we today view those of 19th century Germany.

My own personal candidate for such a negative look back lies in field of posture - specifically the factors influencing postural development in our children and the ways in which parents and our schools attempt to promote good posture.

Most parents of school-aged children have become aware in recent years of the increasing weights their children are expected to carry to and from school in their backpacks. There has even been some discussion in the popular press about the harmful effects these packs have on the development of childrens' posture.

Nonetheless at the same time, some middle and high schools are now being built without storage lockers - presumably to prevent students from storing drugs - thereby forcing them to carry these overweight packs from class to class. All the while their packs get heavier and heavier.

As I write this, I can picture a small child I recently noticed on his way to school. He was probably nine or ten years old. I suppose he would be about four feet tall if he were standing normally. But he wasnt, thanks to his immense backpack. It was so heavy that his whole body curved sharply forward as he trudged along the sidewalk. He looked a little like an undersized and overloaded Sherpa on his way to Mt. Everest!

What makes me particularly upset is that I know whats in store for kids like him once they reach school. They will be forced to use standardized chairs and desks that make no allowance for the natural variation in childrens' shapes and sizes - furniture chosen to save a few dollars and make them easier for the custodial staff to stack and move.

To add insult to injury, they may well be required - while sitting in those horrible chairs - to watch a video on the importance of good posture!

The conditions found in most schools today would never be tolerated in a workplace thanks to government regulations, union pressure, and the threat of lawsuits. But they are widely accepted for our kids in school, even though their young bodies are far more at risk of developing harmful posture patterns that can lead to pain and poor physical functioning in later life.

How can loving parents allow this to happen? How could the parents of the boy I saw possibly allow him to to leave their home carrying such a heavy pack? How could they fail to raise a fuss about the furniture in his classroom?

I believe the answer flows from the same sort of blindness that allowed parents of earlier generations to beat their children. In part this blindness is caused by genuine ignorance of the effects of heavy backpacks and poor school furniture design. But I believe the main reason is a pervasive tendency on the part of adults to discount the importance of childrens' experience - the same sort of discounting that Alice Miller describes so eloquently in her books.

I would strongly advice parents to read one or more of Alice Millers books - they present compelling and well-documented evidence of the psychological harm caused by methods once thought to be good and proper. And then I would urge them to ask themselves if perhaps they arent inadvertently allowing a harm of a different kind to come to their own children.

***

A final note: Of course sometimes a childs posture gets so bad that parents and teachers take notice and try to do something about it. More often than not, their advice is to stand up straight, pull your shoulders back or something else of this sort. These admonitions are generally ignored by kids - and this is just as well since the advice is at best useless. Distance Learning Programs

If you still harbor any doubt about the need for further education, just check the classifieds in a metropolitan newspaper or online and look for yourself at the employment criteria, particularly if you are interested in higher-paying positions and professional employers.

From asbestos abatement and accounting to zookeeping, distance learning programs offer a wide variety of subjects and degrees. There are virtually no commonand very few uncommoncareers for which you cannot study online. Some of the first and oldest online degree providers are still among the highest-rated; be sure to check out several sites and find the one or two that best fit your needs and pocketbook. Verify that they can meet all of your needs for support and counseling and make sure that the program you are interested in will satisfy the requirements of your current or prospective employer. Dont forget about scholarships, association and government grants, and employer-sponsored financial assistance if tuition, books, and fees are a financial issue. Most accept good distance learning programs as easily as traditional ones.

By using a search engine or several search engines, you will likely find more information than you can review and absorb in one sitting. Start now; take the time you need to make a careful search and do a thorough evaluation.

If you are working at a job simply because you have to, as it was all that you could find, and if there is something else that appeals strongly to you for which you have the aptitude and for which there is a viable market, this is the time to think carefully about possible distance learning programs in which you might enroll. There is nothing insurmountable to prevent you from preparing yourself for your dream job. If your current employer is paying your education costs, you will, of course, have to be sure your program meets their requirements for reimbursement. If you are in a position where you can make the choice totally independently, the world is open to you.

Distance learning programs make it possible for nearly anyone, anywhere, anytime to accumulate academic credit toward their goal; the hardest thing about the online programs may be choosing the best one for your circumstances and interests. Have fun as you take on your dream and work toward it; a good education and job preparation never hurt anyones career or bank balance.

How To Determine The Origin Of Spam?

Spam will continue spreading as far as it makes profit. If nobody buys from spammers or acts upon their scams, spam will end. This is the obvious and easiest way to fight spam. You can ignore and delete spam emails you receive. But you can also take vengeance on the spammer by complaining to the spammer's Internet Service Provider (ISP). The ISP will block their connection and maybe impose a fine (depending on the ISP's acceptable usage policy). Spammers beware of such complaints and try to disguise their messages. That's why finding the right ISP is not always easy.

Lets look inside a spam message. Every email message includes two parts, the body and the header. The body is the actual message text and attachments. The header is a kind of the envelope of the message. The header shows the address of the message sender, the address of the message recipient, the message subject and other information. Email programs usually display these header fields:

From: shows the sender's name and email address.
To: shows the recipient's name and email address.
Date: shows the date when the message was sent.
Subject: shows the message subject.

The From: field usually contains the sender's email address. This lets you know who sent the message and allows you easily reply. Spammers, of course, dont want you to reply and dont want you to know who they are. Therefore, they put forged email addresses into the From: lines of their emails. So the From: field wont help you if you want to determine where the spam email comes from.

Tip! With G-Lock SpamCombat you can easily preview not only the message text but also all the fields of the message header . You can choose the preview format by yourself. You can view the message as HTML, decoded message, or message source. There are also several Received: fields in the header of every message. Email programs dont usually display the Received: lines but the Received: lines can be very helpful in tracing the spam origin.

Just like a postal letter goes through a number of post offices before its delivered to the recipient, an email message is processed by several mail servers. Each mail server adds a line to the message header a Received: line which contains

- the server name and IP address of the machine the server received the message from and
- the name of the mail server itself.

Each Received: line is inserted at the top of the message header. If we want to reproduce the messages path from sender to recipient, we start from the topmost Received: line and walk down until the last one, which is where the email originated.

Just like the From: field the Received: lines may contain forged information to fool those who would want to trace the spammer. Because every mail server inserts the Received: line at the top of the header, we start the analysis from the top.

The Received: lines forged by spammers usually look like normal Received: fields. We can hardly tell whether the Received: line is forged or not at first sight. We should analyze all the Received: lines chain to find out a forged Received: field.

As we mentioned above, every mail server registers not only its name but also the IP address of the machine it got the message from. We simply need to look what name a server puts and what the next server in the chain says. If the servers dont match, the earlier Received: line is forged.

The origin of the email is what the server immediately after the forged Received: line says about where it received the message from.

Let's see how determining of the spam email origin works in real life. Here is the header of a spam message weve recently received:

**************************************************

At first, look at the forged From: field. The email address in the From: and Reply-To: lines doesnt exist. So, the spammer took care about directing bounced messages and all the indignant replies people may send to a non-existing email account.

Secondly, the Subject: line. It contains the variations of the Meds and Viagra words that are known to be met in spam messages. Plus, the subject contains a range of random characters. Its obvious that the subject line is skillfully tailored to fool anti-spam filters.

Lastly, lets analyze the Received: lines. We start from the oldest one - Received: from 164.145.240.209 by 60.17.139.96; Tue, 07 Nov 2006 05:53:35 -0500. There are two IP addresses in it: 60.17.139.96 says it received the message from 164.145.240.209.

We check if the next (and last in this case) mail server in the chain confirms the state of the first Received: line. In the second Received: field we have: Received: from unknown (HELO 60.17.139.96) (221.200.13.158) by mail1.myserver.xx with SMTP; 7 Nov 2006 10:54:16 -0000.

mail1.myserver.xx is our server and we can trust it. It received the message from an "unknown" host, which says it has the IP address 60.17.139.96. Yes, this confirms what the previous Received: line says.

Now lets find out where our mail server got the message from. For this purpose, we look at the IP address in brackets before the server name mail1.myserver.xx. It is 221.200.13.15. This is the IP address the connection was established from, and it is not 60.17.139.96. The spam message originates from 221.200.13.15. Its important to note that its not necessarily that the spammer is sitting at the computer 221.200.13.15 and sending spam over the world. It may happen the computers owner doesnt even suspect of being sending spam. The computer may be hijacked by a Trojan, which is spreading spam without the machines owner knowing it.

We hope this information will help you identify the spammer's ISP and report them about spam so they can take proper measures.

Cat Behaviour Problems: The Most Common Problem And How To Deal With It

Cats make excellent pets and have recently overtaken dogs as Britains favourite pet. There are many reasons for this shift but it may well be a reflection of the fact that our lifestyles have become busier and more hectic so we no longer have the time to devote to more demanding pets. Cats need less space, less food, dont need to be walked twice a day and are generally easier to care for. However they can be prone to behaviour problems which may lead to extremely unpleasant deposits around the home, ruined furniture and limbs covered in bites and scratches. Here is some information regarding the most common cat behaviour problem and some tips to help treat it

Failure to use the litter box or house soiling is undoubtedly the most common cat behaviour problem. Cats may stop using their litter box/tray or even have trouble learning to use it in the first place. One thing to remember is that you should never punish the cat by rubbing its nose in it. This method of correction has never worked and will only serve to make the cat even more traumatised, thus adding to the problem.

The three main reasons for failing to use the litter box/tray are: -

1. Medical Problems such as:

Feline Lower Urinary Tract Disease (FLUTD)
Bacterial Infections
Tumours
Kidney Disease
Liver Disease

Treatment

Always take the cat to a reputable vet in the first instance in order to rule out the possibility of any medical problems.
If there is more than one cat in the household, all will need to be examined.

Once all medical problems have been ruled out, you can consider the following: -

2. Problems with the litter box/tray itself:

Not emptied often enough
Not clean
Too many cats using the same box
Overuse of deodorizers
Changing the type or brand of the litter
Changing the location
Too near to frightening domestic appliances e.g. the washing machine

Treatment

Change the litter at least once every 3 days or as often as daily for some cats
Ensure deposits are removed on a daily basis
Clean the box with an odourless disinfectant there are many brands available designed especially for litter boxes
If there is more than one cat in the household, make sure, where possible, each has its own litter box
Introduce any new brand/type of litter a little at a time, mixing it with the old brand/type. Do this until eventually you are using only the new brand. If this doesnt work, you may have to consider returning to the old brand/type.
If the box has been moved put it back to where it was previously. If this is not possible, put the box on the spot that the cat is choosing to use and then move it towards the desired new location at a rate of one foot per day
Move the box away from the frightening noise or move the appliance thats causing the problem
Consider a covered litter box/tray. This gives the cat more privacy, which many prefer and it also helps with odour control and prevents litter being kicked out of the box.

3. Stress/Trauma:

New cats introduced to the household
Visitors, especially large gatherings e.g. a party
Workmen carrying out work in the household
Moving house
A change in routine e.g. new working hours
Problems with other cats in the neighbourhood
A new baby

Treatment

Try to give each cat its own space within the household and introduce them gradually spending a little more time together each day. The unfortunate fact of the matter is that if the soiling continues to be persistent, then it may be advisable not to keep the second cat
Remove the cat to another area of the house along with its bed, litter box, food and water when visitors are present
The above point can be used when workmen are in the house as well but if it is likely to be for more than a couple of days or very noisy then you should consider placing the cat in a cattery until the work is finished
Tranquillisers prescribed by your vet may be effective or consider products like Feliway also available from your vet as a spray or in a diffuser
A new baby sometimes means the cat can become jealous. Give your cat plenty of attention to reassure it that you still love him/her

Above all, remember that punishing the cat using pain or fear will completely destroy any relationship you may have with him/her. At the very least, discipline in this way is likely to escalate the problem and will very likely result in the cat leaving the household altogether to escape the abusive human behaviour.

Funny Dog Names

You know how hard it may be to decide on which dog or breed of dog to buy, you know how difficult it may be to convince the members of the family that you want to have a dog and that you will take care of him in a proper way. Nevertheless, there is something which may seem easy but it is not. Quite the opposite in fact, naming your dog may turn out to be a complete nightmare if you do not take the time and energy to do it right.

Buying a dog can be quite painstaking, altering your whole lifestyle can be nerve wracking at first, but if on top of that, your dog does not look or resemble or the effort you had to put together to buy him and make him adapt to your way of life, the whole situation may turn out to be rather disappointing.

Giving your dog a name requires your attention and dedication for some time. First of all you will need to consider that whenever your dog is called by the name it is because he had to learn it somehow. Therefore, it is really important to give your dog a name that is easy for him to learn as well as for you to remember.

Extravagant and presumed of names may well end up being called finally, puppy or doggie. You certainly do not wan that to happen. In order to give the dog an appropriate name you should also pay attention to his personality, his energy, his daily routine, etc.

Among the many styles of names that you can come up with, there are some which can be improved to become rather funny or at least striking, not the usual, silly or boring names.

Let' take a look at some possible alternatives:

For those dogs which have a funny appearance, names such as Buzie, Bungee or Buccy seem to be appropriate.

For those dogs which are as energetic as a bottle of Gatorade, a name such as Jazzy may sound ok. What about Jeopardy, for those intriguing dogs with that puzzling look?

Why not name him after someone famous you admire, for example if your dog is rather fat and his rotation is not very active, Homer would sound hilarious or even Barney, Homer's drinking friend. With smart, intelligent dogs, the option can be Lisa, if it is a female , it would sound just right.

Baldy for those dogs without much hair would seem suitable, Bingo if you are into casino games, or if you had luck in the past and want to remember that by naming your dog that way.

Finally, Magellan, a bit of history, for those intrepid dogs which like adventure so much, would sound a bit over the top but funny, nevertheless.

Four Steps To Building a Better Backswing

The golf swing is basically a chain reaction, as I've said before. One good move leads naturally to another. Obviously, the first few "links" in the chain are critical, since they determine the quality and the shape of the swing. If you make a proper backswing, as I often write in my golf tips, you'll develop power, accuracy, and consistency in your swing.

Unfortunately, some golfers take their backswing lightly. Instead of taking the club back slowly and smoothly, they rush it and find themselves in a poor position to start their forwardswing. A poor backswing requires complex adjustments during the swing, which can throw it off. The end result is a slice, a hook, or an otherwise ugly shot. If you want to develop consistency and power-while improving your golf handicap-you must build a better backswing.

Make a Preflight Check

Get in the habit of making a preflight check before starting your backswing. A good set-up increases the chances of starting off right. Check for correct posture, the right weight distribution, and the proper ball position, which should be just inside the left heel when using longer clubs and toward the middle of your stance for shorter clubs. Also, check to see that the club's shaft is an extension of the left arm (right-handers) and that you have a neutral grip.

In addition, check your tee-height. As a general rule, the top edge of the driver should be level with the ball's equator, irrespective of the clubhead's size and design. This rule also applies to the 3-wood when used from the tee. The design of this club hasn't changed significantly over the years. Its clubhead is smaller than almost all drivers' clubheads, especially the new ones. You need to tee the ball lower to achieve the right height for the 3-wood.

Shift Weight Properly

Allowing your weight to move back and forth in harmony with the swing's direction generates power. If the upper body coil and the weight shift are both correct in the backswing, the natural movement is a lateral one onto the right foot (right-handers), preparing the golfer for a forceful forwardswing. This is followed by a weight shift to the front foot.

Annika Sorenstam, considered by many as the number one ranked woman golfer on the pro tour, presents a good example of someone whose weight shifts properly during her backswing. Watch her when she swings. If you compare her head position at the top of backswing with her head position at the start of her backswing, you'll see that it has moved a good 5-6 inches (12-15 cm) to the right, enabling her to "get behind the ball."

Think "All Arms"

A proper takeaway is critical to a good swing. The catalyst for the chain reaction, the takeaway starts everything in motion, as I stress in my golf lessons. It introduces width and coordination in the swing, and determines the quality and shape of the shot. The first 30 inches of the takeaway is perhaps the most crucial point in the swing. The goal is a one-piece takeaway.

To achieve a one-piece takeaway, sweep the club back low and slow as your left knee, hip, and shoulder turn to the right. Shift your weight slightly onto the right foot (for right-handers), creating the feeling as if the move was "all arms." And hold your chin up as you take the club away to allow for a full left shoulder turn.

Turn and Set

The turn and set is the final element of the backswing. Once the takeaway is complete, the wrists hinge as the body continues to turn and the arms swing the club up on plane. A useful checkpoint in the swing occurs at the halfway point in the backswing. In a properly executed backswing, the club points toward the sky. From there on, it's a simple movement to the top of the backswing.

Watch the takeaway of Ernie Els when opportunity permits. His upper body, hands, arms, and the club all move away from the ball in harmony. The wrists are almost completely passive. They only start to hinge as the hands reach a point just beyond the right hip, the ideal takeaway to emulate. Notice also that he lifts his left heel slightly as he takes the club back. There's no hard and fast rule on this, as I've said in my golf tips. If you need to lift it slightly to complete a full body turn, then do so.

One last tip on building a better backswing: As you begin, try thinking "low and smooth." Maintaining this swing thought as you start your swing encourages you take the club back in a deliberate manner.

Building a better backswing is a key to generating a consistent, repeatable swing-the hallmark of players with low golf handicaps. Work on your backswing in practice. You'll see a difference in your swing on the course.

The Plan or the Trash Can: An Email Marketing Guide

Introduction

Theres no doubt that email marketing has gotten a bum rap from abusive spammers. Several thoughts such as long prison sentences for wide scale spammers instantly come to mind in a vague jumble when this practice is mentioned. Theres definitely a gloomy and sensational edge to email marketing. The Can Spam Act reminded me, in a lesser judicial way, of Elliott Ness taking on Al Capone. I can also still recall reading about the July 25th 2005 murder of Vadran Kushnir, a Moscow-based spammer who targeted millions of inboxes; apparently one of them may have been the wrong one to send spam to.

This madness aside, people in the online advertising and marketing industry, the legitimate ones that is, know that email marketing is vital to a companys strategy. Indeed, marketing via emails enables a company to keep a line of contact with existing clientele and to generate leads for its sales team. The following is a broad overview on how to run an ethical and dynamic email marketing campaign geared towards producing sales leads.

I. Know Your Visitors To Be In Compliance With the Can Spam Act

You should know your visitors for two reasons: legality and efficiency. Firstly, at any given moment, you must be able to account for precisely when and where you got each and every email address on your list. Indeed, for every mass email sent out, there will be a handful of people who did actually sign up to be placed on the list but who, regardless, will continue to complain about being on that list and threaten to report you to your States Attorney General office. The environment surrounding email marketing described in the introduction all too often compels people to hastily lump illegal spammers together with legitimate email marketers that entered into a consenting relationship with the recipients on their list. This irritation may simply be because recipients grow weary of the emails that they signed up for or altogether forget that they signed up for them in the first place.

According to the Federal Trade Commission website, the Can Spam Act that went into effect on January 1st 2004 reserves fines of up to $11,000 for each violation that an email marketer commits. In order to protect themselves from such a financial threat and, of course, to ensure the ethical behavior of their clients, mass email distribution service providers such as CoolerEmail.com and IntelliContact.com clearly stipulate in their terms of service that all fines are the responsibility of the client, not theirs, and that all clients must be able to account for every email sent.

Being able to sleep at night if youre a legitimate email marketer dealing with thousands of recipients can easily be achieved by adopting a sound email acquisition tracking procedure. Keep both a digital and printed record of all of your online and old fashioned pen and paper sign up forms and of all the people who used them to add themselves to your email lists. In addition there should be a timestamp next to each email address to indicate time and day. All this can easily be obtained by your tech support team as they are able to export, from the site of the published form, a nicely formatted Excel sheet of the list. Of course, history logs must be obtainable to answer any audit trails of those records.

II. Know Your Visitors To Increase Your Email Marketing Efficiency

Email distribution service providers such as Intellicontact.com provide advanced reporting that allows you to determine where your recipients came from and what links they are more prone to click in an email. Distinguishing your recipients point of origin and interests is important to prevent them from being alienated by the message you are sending. This is especially important if you are managing the email marketing of a company that offers a broad range of products or services. Email optimization begins with dividing your master list into specific subgroups. Reports from your previous mailings will allow you to download lists of recipients who clicked on certain links to visit specific pages on your website. A good email distribution service will also allow you to automatically categorize future recipients based on which online sign up form they came from. Knowing the preferences and browsing tendencies of these subgroups will enable you to send more precise and catered mass emails to specific audiences.

Does this mean that you shouldnt pitch all of your products, services, or general messages in emails? Of course not: The purpose of email marketing is, after all, to generate leads for your companys sales team to follow up on. It is even possible to use the same content in all of the email batches that you plan on sending out. The only difference is that you should arrange your content in a way that gives prominence to the information that each subgroup of recipients will appreciate the most. In addition, your subject line should reflect the interests that characterize each of your subgroups.

Following these simple guidelines will increase the probability of matching potential sales to potential clients. More importantly, it will prevent people from becoming aggravated with content that does not interest them, which we all know is the main ingredient for landing your hard worked email in peoples Recylce Bin. Finally, always remember that once a user hits that little unsubscribe link, that should imperatively be at the bottom of each email, you may as well give your final adieus as it is almost impossible to get that person to sign up again.

Online Money-Making Products -- Worth It or Worthless?

Ever considered buying one of those money-making products that claim you can earn hundreds per day online, with only a few hours work? So did I, and after reading one long sales letter after another, I finally broke down and purchased a few. Here's what I learned about making money online and what it really costs to get those fantastic profits you hear so much about.

Getting Started... First, Choose Your Product

I bought a popular package and paid $49.95, which is about average. For my money, I got a lot of sound ideas for generating Internet cash; almost too many. Do yourself a favor and take notes as you wade through the detailed techniques in these products. It'll help you set priorities for the tasks you'll need to perform.

When in Doubt, Start at the Beginning

Like many others, this product author offers a free website to jump-start your business. As with any website, you also need a hosting plan. The author recommends a hosting company that charges $4.95 per month. This is actually a great price, since it includes lots of high-quality features and a free domain name (i.e. www.your-own-domain-name.com.)

Your costs so far:

-- Product: $49.95, including free website
-- Domain name of your choice: $0.00
-- Hosting cost: $4.95 / month for hosting, paid 1 year in advance. Cost: $59.40
-- Total expenditure: $109.35

Ok, But How Do You Earn Income?

Let's assume you now have the complimentary website from the author under your chosen domain name. So, how does that make you money?

What you've actually got is a website with reviews for various money-making products, including the author's. You earn commissions when your visitors buy those products after reading your reviews. You don't sell anything directly; instead, you are an affiliate of the authors whose product reviews appear on your web pages. What does being an affiliate cost? Nothing... it's free! And, you stand to make substantial income if you can entice your visitors to buy the products you review.

For example, some packages cost $100 and you could receive up to 75% commission for sending a buyer to an author's web page, as long as they complete a purchase. Product prices and commissions vary, but the average charge for an information product is about $50 and the average commission paid is around 50%, so being an affiliate can be very lucrative!

Getting Visitors Fast

At this point, you've got the potential to make good, maybe even great money. But there's just one catch... nobody on the Internet knows about your website! You have no visitors and no buyers.

What can you do to get eyes on your site in a hurry? What else, spend some money! How much depends upon what you can afford up front and how well you understand pay-per-click (PPC) advertising.

What is pay-per-click advertising? Run a search on www.Google.com and take a look at the results page. On the right side of the screen you'll see a section called "Sponsored Links". These are the PPC ads, called Google Adwords, that people like yourself can purchase. Your ads appear when someone searches Google for the keywords you specified during ad setup.

Let The Bidding Begin

Here's how it works: You bid for position in the sponsored ads, but you pay nothing until someone clicks on your ad. For each click, you pay the amount you bid for your location in the ad results. Depending upon the keywords you pick, bids can range from $0.05 to many dollars.

But, it really doesn't matter how much you pay per click as long as you get a fair amount of sales from those clicks. Remember, you can earn an average of $25 and even $75 or more per sale if your customers buy through your affiliate program.

Pay-Per-Click Economics 101

Let's assume a cost of $0.25 per click and an average profit from each affiliate sale of $25. You must sell (or "convert") 10 products per 1000 clicks just to break-even. So, your "conversion rate" or the number of sales you make vs. the number of total clicks on your ad is 1%.

1% sounds like a low number, but it's actually considered a decent conversion rate on the Internet. But, you're just breaking-even. To start making money, you must lower your cost-per-click or raise your conversion rate. How? By selecting the right keywords for your ads and tweaking your website so it induces your visitors to buy, not just browse.

The Adwords Path to Profits

Ideally, you want your ad to appear in targeted search results, when the searcher is ready to buy. There's a whole science (and maybe some voodoo) behind picking the best keywords for your ads, writing a compelling ad and getting your prospective customers to make a purchase from your website. But, there are also lots of informative products out there to help you. Products which you can buy and then sell as an affiliate!

Ok, let's recap your business costs up to now... you've spent $109.35 on a money-making product plus web hosting. Add $250 per week for Google ad clicks (1000 clicks / week at $0.25 each = $250 / week.) So at the end of month one, you have a total outlay of $1109.35, with $1000 repeating each month for ad costs.

Now, let's look at your profit figures... at the original conversion rate of 1%, you break even each month after the first. Not so good, but... what if you enhanced your Google ad and picked some cheaper, targeted keywords for your ad raising your conversion rate to 1.5%?

Count Your Profits, But Keep Your Job

Good news! 1.5% of those 1000 clicks per week is 15 sales. At $25 commission per sale, you rake-in $375 per week. Subtracting $250 in Google ad costs, you just made $125 profit per week! Not enough to quit your job, but that's $500 a month you didn't have before. The best part is, this process repeats itself without any more effort on your part.

Make a Living from Your Website(s)

Now, let's improve your bottom-line. Imagine you have 20 affiliate websites selling various products that generate $125 profit per week through affiliate sales. That's an amazing $2500 per week or $130,000 per year! Makes you want to quit your job and devote even more time to creating websites, doesn't it?

Is this simple? Not when you first start out. In fact, if you aren't careful about your keyword choices and your ad and website content, you could be pouring that $250 in ad costs right down the Google drain!

Worth It or Worthless?

Yes, money-making products that promise Internet profits can actually work. Just be sure to follow instructions and take careful notes. It's also smart to learn as much as you can about keyword selection, ad writing and website design. Oh, and don't forget to take some time to enjoy your success!

The Art of Selecting a Quilting Pattern

In the past, quilting patterns were handed down generation to generation. You could get new patterns that weren't in your family from close friends. Today, with computers and the Internet there are literally thousands of quilting patterns at your fingertips. How do you select which quilting pattern to use?

Before you begin browsing quilting patterns, determine the purpose of your upcoming quilt. Will it be a gift for a specific occasion? Will it be a wall hanging, piece of clothing, bed cover, furniture cover or even a pillow?

Knowing what you are going to use the quilt for when it is done is the first step in selecting a quilting pattern. Some patterns look better on smaller projects and vice versa. Depending on your quilting skill, you might need several patterns for different sections of your quilt.

The next step in selecting a quilting pattern is to determine approximately what colors you will be using. For example, you would not want to use bright pink if it's going to be a baby quilt for a newborn boy. A wedding quilt would be in light colors. Perhaps the quilt is a wall hanging and needs certain colors to compliment the room's dcor? Knowing what the quilt will be used for will help you determine roughly what types of colors that you want for the quilt.

Decide what types of materials you want to use for the quilt. Some quilting patterns do better with cotton fabrics, while others need different materials to do well. Will you be using high-loft or low-loft batting for the quilt piece? Will it be a batik piece? Knowing the type of material will help you select the best quilting pattern.

Write down your plans for the quilt. As you browse through the patterns available, disregard the ones that don't fit the theme, colors or material that you will be using for your project. Select a design that catches your eye and will be enjoyable to work with. You can look at the colors on the quilting pattern picture to get an idea of what color schemes work best with that particular pattern and modify them to specifically meet your needs.

Many quilters purchase quilting patterns. Some purchase expensive software like EQ6 to generate patterns. Many choose to become members of the QuiltingResourceCenter.com and have access to a large number of quilting patterns that are easy to download and print. The advantage of doing this is that you can modify your design and colors easily since you can see the dimensions of the quilting pattern design and how it will fit together. There is a large selection of themes for the quilting patterns as well.

One fun use of quilting patterns is to learn new quilting techniques. Members at the QuiltingResourceCenter.com have access to a comprehensive library of quilting video tutorials, eBooks, audios and more. You can select a quilting pattern to try out a new quilting technique to add uniqueness to your future quilt projects.

Choosing the right pattern to personalize to match a quilt's theme is essential to the success of every quilting project.

The Importance of The Job Interview in Canada

As I have mentioned several times, I will not only help you with your visa application process, I will also help you arrive and settle in Canada!

One of the most important tasks that you will have to accomplish after you arrive to Canada will be attending to several job interviews so that you can get the job of your dreams in Canada! Today, I will give you some useful advice and recommendations to help you answer TOUGH questions during your job interview in Canada! Remember, Canadians are very nice, but sometimes they can be tough!

O.K. lets get started

After a little practice, most of us can become quite confident answering some interview questions, such as What are your strengths? or Why do you want this job? These common questions have been heard by millions of job seekers over the years and have been answered with varying degrees of success.

However, there are other questions that are more difficult to masterfully answer. These are the ones interviewers like to throw at us when everything else seems to be going smoothly in the interview. Just when we think weve done a great job, we hear something like Why did you get fired from your last job? or How come youve had so much trouble finding a position since the layoff? or If you could be any television character, who would you be and why? or How does your husband/wife feel about you taking this job?

The problem with most of these questions isnt that we dont know the answers; its that they take us by surprise for a moment and throw us off our game. We miss the catch because the ball came out of nowhere.

Now you could practice answering all of these potential questions, but theres always a good bet that a savvy interviewer will still throw something your way that you didnt see coming. After all, they want to see how well you handle something unexpected. So this section wont provide you with definite clever answers for all of the possible trick questions in the world, but we will look at numerous examples and Ill give you some basic guidelines and suggestions on how to handle them.

As a result, you might be a caught off-guard for a moment by an unusual question, but youll recover quickly and answer with a thoughtful response that should Wow! the interviewer. With that goal in mind, lets begin our journey into the world of unusual and difficult interview questions.

Questions About Former Employers & Employment

Chances are you wont escape an interview without facing some questions about your past and/or current employers. Some questions are fairly simple, such as Tell me what you liked most about your last job. Those questions you can answer without too much pressure and without becomingly overly worried about slipping up and saying the wrong thing.

On the other hand, you may also face more difficult questions about your work history. Here are some examples:

- Why did you leave your last job?
- Why were you fired?
- Why has there been such a large gap between your jobs?
- Why are you switching careers?

All of these questions have the potential to cause you to lose your composure during an interview and to stumble around for an answer. Thankfully, however, there are ways to answer these questions effectively.

Why did you leave your last job?

We all have different reasons for searching out a new position: we want more money, we didnt get along with our boss, etc. In most cases, our real reason for leaving may not make the best response during an interview.

For example, if you responded, I left because of a conflict with my supervisor the interviewer is going to see you as a potential problem. After all, if youve had conflict with one supervisor, you may have a problem with authority. If you said, I wanted to find a job that paid better and that had more opportunities for advancement, the interviewer would wonder if youd really be happy with the salary or the opportunities at this position or if youd just leave there as well.

The correct answer should be positive and should be directed towards what you know about this position. In an interview for a job where youd be dealing with customers or public relations regularly, you might answer, Although I enjoyed my previous job, I wanted to seek out a position that would give me more chances to work with the public.

Why were you fired?

It can be difficult to explain to a potential employer why you were fired from a previous position. Many people make the mistake of blaming the other company or the supervisor for the problem, but you have to remember the golden rule of interviewing: never say anything negative about a former employer.

Your best bet is to check in with your references from that past employer to determine exactly what there take on your firing was. You may have thought the split was amicable when they viewed it in a different light altogether. After youve spoken with your references, youll have a better idea of how to formulate a response.

In your answer, you should accept your share of the blame. No firing not even one that was unfair or biased is completely one-sided. Blaming others will only tell the interviewer that you havent learned a lesson and that youre likely to make the same mistakes again.

A good answer might be the following: I was fired because there was a miscommunication from the beginning about my job responsibilities. The employer needed someone who had access to a vehicle during the day, and I did not. I should have stated from the beginning that, while my transportation was reliable, I would not be able to run errands outside of the office. In the response, the individual briefly explains the situation and accepts responsibility for her share of the miscommunication. She doesnt speak negatively about the past employer.

Dont forget to be honest. Making up a story to explain why you were fired wont get you the job.

Why has there been such a large gap between your jobs?

Interviewers look over your resume for carefully. What they want to see is a continuous, or nearly continuous, stream of employment. When there are stretches of time between jobs ranging from six months to a year or more, they may be concerned about your ability to maintain a position long-term or about personal issues which may require you to leave the workplace for lengthy periods of time.

If the interviewer asks about these gaps, then your best strategy is to be honest. For example, you might say I took some time off to stay home with our new baby, but now that hes settled in pre-school I feel comfortable accepting the responsibilities of a full-time position or After I was displaced from my Acme where Id worked for eight years, it took me awhile to regain my confidence. It happened quite suddenly, and I admit I wasnt prepared to make a change. It took me awhile to feel comfortable getting back out in the job market.

Again, take responsibility for the gap between positions but also try to ease the concerns that are behind the interviews question or that may be raised as a result of your answer.

Why are you switching careers?

For some of us, when we want a change, we want a major change. Switching employers may not be enough; we may have to try an entirely different field. The desire to re-invent ourselves may be easy enough for us to understand but interviewers may question the switch. What they dont want is a new employee who quickly regrets making the change or who realizes the new career isnt all they thought it would be.

Your answer to this question should reflect a sincere interest in the new field, as well as your knowledge of what it entails. Basically, make sure you have done your homework so the interviewer knows this isnt just some fly-by-night decision; its something youve put a lot of thought into.

Heres a sample answer: After I spent ten years in advertising, I wanted a change that would give me more opportunities to work with customers directly. Thats the main reason I considered sales. I did some research into the field and discovered that the best salespeople have strong interpersonal skills, a genuine desire to help others, and an ability to recognize the needs and wants of customers. These are all traits Ive developed through my experience in advertising so I thought this would be a great fit for me.

See you in Canada!

How to Get the Best Possible Beach Vacation Home

There is nothing more relaxing than having a week or two to spend at the beach. Vacation homes are a wonderful change from staying at a large or impersonal motel or hotel, plus they have the added convenience of being close to or even right on the water, having all the amenities of a house, as well as being much larger than a hotel room or even a suite would be.

Many of the beach vacation homes available offer all the features of a hotel vacation. If you are considering a rental and are going through an agency or property management company, it is usually possible to have a rental car provided for you upon arrival. In addition, many companies and agencies can also offer bonded and professional cleaning staff, chefs and even tour guides that will personalize your beach vacation and really make it a holiday for everyone in the family.

If you would prefer to just be able to relax and enjoy the warm weather, beach vacation homes can offer a quiet, stress-free holiday environment. To ensure that you get the best possible rental property, be sure to check the following:

* Ensure that you know the full amount of the rental and any additional expenses that may be included. Most beach vacation homes, especially those that are right on the beach or at the water will book up at least one season in advance. Holiday times such as summer vacation, spring break and even Christmas holidays may be booked several seasons in advance.

* Before sending a deposit or providing a credit card number for a deposit or reservation, fully understand the cancellation policy or any insurance that you may need to have on the property.

* Whether you are renting beach vacation homes from an individual or a company, be sure to get everything in writing before supplying a deposit or credit card information, especially if you have not rented through the company or from the individual before. A verbal agreement is not binding or legally valid in a court but a written, signed contract is a legal document.

* Finally, check the area in which the beach vacation home is located. While property right on the beach is great in quiet or secluded places, on busy beaches it can be a bit more stressful and noisy, especially if you are wanting a quiet vacation spot.

Doing some advanced research on beach vacation homes is simple through the internet or making a few phone calls. Planning your vacation is half the fun and knowing what you want and finding just the right beach vacation homes makes the holiday perfect for the whole family.

Internet Marketing: Tagging Your Way To Success

Are you still depending on the search engines for your Internet marketing efforts? If you still are, then you are going to miss out on something that is going to be huge in the near future.

Tags are all the rage at the moment. They are springing up literally everywhere: blog directories, video directories, social networking websites, etc. They are represented by a group of words in a block, just like a normal keyword phrase. They are easily distinguished by their font size and color intensity i.e if a tag is very popular, then it will be highlighted in bold and in higher color intensity.

So what the hell are tags?

Tags were actually first introduced onto the Internet a couple of years ago. The mechanism of tags is very different from the search engines. For the search engines, they let robotic spiders do all the work. These automated spiders crawl and index all web pages, and thereafter placing them in the appropriate categories.

Tags are very different in the sense that they do not depend on the so-called spiders. They work in a way such that actual human beings can actually place their website contents in the appropriate categories all by themselves without going through the robotic mechanisms of the search engines.

Social bookmarking websites are the pioneers of tags. They encourage members to categorize their website contents according to their appropriate groups with the help of tags. For example, if the topic of your website is on dog training, then you would assign the tag 'dog training' to your site. This makes it much more convenient for other members to find your webpage.

Tags have now become very useful Internet marketing tools for online marketers.

Firstly, since you can do the classifying yourself, you can be rest assured that your webpage will be placed in the right category. This will ensure that your site will be found by people who are searching for the same kind of content. What makes the tagging system even better is that the most recently updated webpage will appear at the very top of the search results, encouraging fresh content in the process.

This is one reason why you should regularly update your website contents in order to garner favorable positions in the tagging system.

Secondly, tags can be very useful substitutes for keyword research tools. The reason for this is because tags that are hot and popular are always very prominently displayed i.e they are usually highlighted in bold and have larger font sizes. This system is also amazingly up-to-date, because popular tags are displayed in real time, and any changes to the popularity ranks will be reflected in the tagging system instantly.

This makes the researching work of Internet marketing experts so much easier, as they now only need to look for the current most popular tags if they are to enter into a new niche.

How can you best utilize tags?

Tags are very useful in many ways, and below are just some of its more popular uses.

i.) Blog directories.

Tags are being used in blog directories to place freshly updated content pages in the appropriate categories.

ii.) Social networking websites

Social networking websites like MySpace use tags to allow members to share their lists of favorite tags with other people who share the same interests and passion.

iii.) Multimedia directories

Multimedia directories like Google's new acquisition, YouTube, use tags to make it more convenient and easier for members to find the audio or video files that they are looking for.

There are of course many other uses of tags, but stick with those listed above. These are new-age Internet marketing techniques that can add an extra dimension to your online business.

It is widely speculated that tags are going to replace search engines as the information finding method of choice of the Internet users in the near future, and the early signs are definitely very promising. The tagging system is much more reliable than the mechanical algorithms of the search engines, because actual humans are the ones assigning the tags, and not robotic spiders.

Another powerful aspect of tagging is that the whole process happens almost instantaneously. With the search engines, you would have to wait for a few days before your content page gets indexed by the spiders. But with the new tagging system, your newly updated contents will appear under the desired category as soon as you notify the system of your new entry.

So as you can see, tags are going to be very powerful Internet marketing tools for savvy online business owners. Get in on the action now, and tag your way to success.

Photo Wedding Invitations - A Refreshing Approach to Wedding Invitations

Wedding invitations are often overlooked in wedding planning as important because it is a small cost compared to the price of the dress, renting the venue and ordering the catering. However, the wedding invitation should be considered one of the most important aspects of wedding planning because without the invitations, there would be no guests.

Wedding invitations set the tone of a wedding. The colors often match and the theme of the invitation can also reflect the mood and attire of the wedding.

One of the most refreshing and unique options for wedding invitations is to get photo wedding invitations. Couples can choose their own backdrop and theme for their own invitations. Couples can have a western themed invitation by getting a photo out in their favorite nature spot while another couple can get a photo of themselves in Las Vegas before they elope and use it as their Las Vegas wedding announcement. Thus we see that photo wedding invitations can have more creativity than most other wedding invitations.

This is because a photo wedding invitation has a uniqueness that no other invitation company can duplicate. Creating a photo wedding invitation or having a photo wedding invitation professionally printed guarantees that no other couple will have the same invitation and style as another couple.

Photo wedding invitations can also be graphically designed to fit a couples style or theme needs. Many couples now are hiring graphic designers to design the photo on their invitation with special graphics or photos or even borders to make the photo invitations even more special.

Photo invitations sometimes have a stereotype as being not the most luxurious option, but now with many photo invitation companies available, wraps, gilclear covers, translucent overlays and ribbons prove otherwise.

Photo invitations also have the option of color changes. Sepia tones give photo invitations an older feel while black and white often give photo wedding invitations an elegant feel. Graphics designers can also touch up any photos to make blemishes and red eyes disappear.

Oftentimes, couples who get photo invitations also purchase photo wedding favors which can be purchased at the same company as the photo invitations and the photo wedding favors are just as unique as the photo wedding invitations.

Photo wedding favors consist of little trinkets to hand to guests but also reception gear like a photo ring bearer pillow, a photo unity candle, and even photo guest books.

Finding An Affordable Web Site Hosting Plan

Finding an affordable web site hosting plan is a must for new businesses or established businesses that are on a budget. Of course, as with most things, this is much easier said than done.

There are tons of hosting companies out there that claim to offer free or cheap web site hosting, but many of them have hidden fees or low quality services. A supposedly affordable web site hosting plan can quickly turn into a costly nightmare if you aren't careful. This is why it is essential that you do your homework and research a number of hosting companies before making any final decisions.

Comparing Costs

If you are looking for cheap web site hosting, then you will obviously need to compare the costs that are charged by different hosting companies. Specific costs to look at when searching for an affordable web site hosting plan include site set up fees, monthly or annual maintenance fees, and any other fees that may be associated with the plan.

It should be noted that some hosting companies offer free set-up. If you can find a web host who is offering this in addition to low monthly hosting fees, you will of course be much better with this host versus another who makes you pay for the same service.

Features

Things to compare in addition to the cost when looking for cheap web site hosting services include the amount of storage space received with the plan, the programming languages supported by the web host, and the amount of customer support offered. Some hosting companies will offer all of these features in their basic or most affordable web site hosting plan, and others will not.

You will also want to take a look at the other services offered by the web hosting companies that you are considering. Some cheap web site hosting companies provide additional services such as domain name registration and web building tools. If you haven't purchased a domain name yet or if you need help building your website, you may want to check to see if these services can be combined with the company's most affordable web hosting plan. This could save you an enormous amount of money.

Other Considerations

If you have found a cheap web site hosting plan that has all of the features you need to build your web site, there are still a few other things that will need to be taken into consideration before you sign on the dotted linethe most important being reliability.

Some hosting companies who offer an affordable web hosting plan have one major downfall: they aren't always reliable. Because you need the web site to work when people try to access it, reliability is going to be a must. This is why you should always ask hosting companies about downtime before signing up for cheap web site hosting. Last, but not least, you need to make sure that you will have all of the support you need if you choose the most affordable web hosting plan that is being offered to you. Specific things to ask about include technical support response time and customer service representative availability.
